“I would tell my younger self – Everything has a way of working itself out. I think when I was younger I was Stressing myself out about trying to get so many things done at one time, and now I’ve kind of figured out that everything that you do throughout life it comes back around, so in some way you use it. For example, I used to be in fundraising and now the connections that I made in fundraising and the things I learned in fundraising have come back around to help me with my business, so nothing is ever lost. Everything is a learning process, so just knowing that everything you are doing now, is setting you up for later. Then, when I was doing it I got discontent and wondered if this was it, not understanding that everything is a journey.
You could live to be 100 years old, and you are not wasting 99 years, you are learning throughout those years and you might live to be 110. My great grandmother was 114 when she died and so everything she learnt in those 114 years, every year she got better and wiser, every experience she had to go through it for the grand finale, and sometimes we don’t look at life like that. It’s like a tragic event happens in our lives and we think our lives are over, when in actuality that tragic event happened because 15 years from now you are going to have to tell that story to help someone else. It’s not over until you are dead.”
